An Underwater Maui Photography Session

Recently Blue Soul Maui had the chance to help out with an underwater Maui photography session. We were contacted by our good friends at Nomad Visual Media to help out with a “Trash the Dress” photoshoot. The couple was referred by this amazing and unique luxury destination wedding and event planning company called Maui’s Angels. They are passionate about creating out-of-the-ordinary and polished weddings here on Maui. Thank you both for the opportunity to help out with such an awesome experience.

We showed up to the location in our 44-foot Hawaiian outrigger canoe excited to get this newlywed couple wet. After a quick safety briefing and a little instruction on how to paddle we were off to the beautiful reefs of Olowalu. Armed with a fun professional photographer who also is a water-savvy, great surfer, and Charlie, the owner of Blue Soul Maui who is also an avid waterman the couple was sure to be safe while swimming in the ocean fully clothed.

After a few minutes of paddling around for a good spot to anchor up, we found the perfect spot, an oasis of white sand surrounded by lively coral. Once we set the anchor in the sand we hopped in and began the fun. The newlywed couple was not used to swimming in the ocean, let alone fully clothed and trying to hold their breath for long periods of time. They did however do a great job after a bit of getting used to the water and some coaching from Matias and Charlie.

What an amazing experience for this young couple. We are so stoked for them. Best wishes for their new journey in life!
