One of the best ways to explore the waters that surround Maui is in a Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe. These 44 foot long canoes seat up to six people. They gracefully glide through the water with ease. They are balanced by an Ama , which is attached by two Iako’s that are made of wood. This outrigger provides great stability. Blue Soul Maui proudly supports and promotes Ao’ao O Na Loko I’a O Maui, which is a local non-profit organization that’s main goal is to revitalize the Hawaiian culture through education and hands on work restoring the ancient Ko’ie’ie Fishpond rock walls in north Kihei. During this tour you will learn Hawaiian chants, learn about some of Maui’s history all while paddling an outrigger canoe along south Maui’s coastline. Outrigger Whale Watch Tours are the best ways the view and experience Humpback Whales. From December – late March humpback whales visit the Hawaiian Islands to give birth and mate.
